BSNL appoints S Parthiban as Chief General Manager for Tamil Nadu Circle

New Delhi: State-owned telecommunications company Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced the appointment of S. Parthiban as the new Chief General Manager (CGM) for its Tamil Nadu Circle. Parthiban, an Indian Telecommunication Service officer from the 1988 batch, he is also holding the additional charge as CGM for Chennai Telephones.

An engineering graduate from Anna University in Chennai, Parthiban began his career with the Department of Telecommunications as an Assistant Divisional Engineer for southern telecom projects. Over the years, he has made significant contributions to expanding BSNL’s infrastructure in the region.

Parthiban played a key role in establishing a long-distance telecom network across the southern states, enhancing the region's telecom connectivity. Notable achievements during his tenure include commissioning a digital microwave route between Madurai and Thiruvananthapuram, as well as developing long-distance optical fiber cable routes of varying capacities across southern India.

In previous roles as Director and Deputy Director General, Parthiban was instrumental in curbing illegal telecom setups, demonstrating his commitment to safeguarding the nation's telecom infrastructure.
