New Delhi: State-owned RITES Limited said in a regulatory filing that the "Ministry of Railways vide its letter no 2021/E(O)Il/40/30 dated March 21 has appointed Dr Deepak Tripathi (DIN: 10090267) as Director (Technical) of the company with effect from the date of assumption of charge i.e., March 27 till the date of his superannuation or until further orders, whichever is earlier."

Further, the filing also noted that "AK Chandra, IRSME, PED/W&D, Railway Board (DIN: 10076614) holding additional charge to the post of Director (Technical) of RITES Limited ceases to be Director (Technical) of RITES Limited with effect from the date of appointment of Dr Deepak Tripathi as Director (Technical) of RITES Limited, due to the appointment of the regular incumbent to the post."

Brief profile

Dr Deepak Tripathi, an IRSME officer of 1990 batch, mechanical engineer with a Doctorate and Post Graduation from NITIE/Mumbai specialising in Operations, Quality, and Lean Management. He has even attended various Leadership and Management Training in NUS/INSEAD/IIM-K and other institutes. During his career span of 30+ years in Indian Railways (IR) and Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL), he has covered a wide business spectrum in Traction and Rolling Stock, Railway Operations and Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Rolling Stock Infrastructure, O&M, and Technology Projects, Marketing and Business Development and International Business. He has steered several multidisciplinary projects in KRCL such as International Business in Railway Operations & Maintenance focusing on South Asia, Middle East, and Africa, Award Development and O&M of innovative Roll-On Roll-Off services, Electric Traction Operations and Mechanised Railway Maintenance, Design to Construction of Rolling Stock Infrastructure, Anti-Collision Device (ACD) and also worked on Multimodal Connectivity projects. He has even worked as Director/Quality Assurance (I&L)/RDSO for 06 yrs. He has organized Inspections, Quality Assurance etc. for Rolling Stock with 100+ firms in india and abroad. ‘SMART Yard technology’ implemented in Technology/ Transfer projects including Industry 4.0 and Al projects. He has authored three books and is also having International Conferences & Workshops in India/ US/ Europe/ Middle East/ Asia Pacific on lean and technology in Rail & Metro. He has been awarded the Innovative Idea of the Year Award, from the Minster of Railways. He has even received an ‘Outstanding Author Award’ from EMERALD Publications. He has been awarded with ‘Lal Bahadur Shastri Award’ for his book ‘Smart Lean Management’ ‘Director Academy of Indian Railways (NAIR) and RDSO/Ministry of Railways. He has also received two Presidential Awards from Home Minister.
