New Delhi/Visakhapatnam: Senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer G Trinadh Kumar has assumed charge as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL) , the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam Steel Plant.

A senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer of the 2002 batch belonging to the AGMUT cadre, Dr Kumar brings more than two decades of administrative and technical experience across forestry, environment, wildlife management, biodiversity conservation and natural resource management.
Before joining RINL, he served as Inspector General of Forests (Central) at the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change in Hyderabad. He also held the position of Regional Director, South Zone, at the Forest Survey of India in Bengaluru.
Dr Kumar has extensive experience in the administration and management of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and Export Oriented Units (EOUs). Over the course of his career, he has served in ecologically sensitive regions including the Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Goa, where he worked in areas related to biodiversity conservation, coastal zone management, tribal welfare and community participation in natural resource management.

Academically, Dr Kumar holds a PhD in Genetics from Indian Agricultural Research Institute and has specialised in forestry, biotechnology, environment and wildlife conservation.
Senior officials and employees of RINL welcomed Dr Kumar on assuming charge and expressed confidence that his leadership and experience would contribute to the organisation’s growth and sustainability initiatives.
