Govt clears appointment of Manobendra Ghoshal as CMD of MSTC

New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Manobendra Ghoshal for the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of MSTC Limited on Tuesday. According to an order issued from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), Ghoshal has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post, till the date of his superannuation i.e. March 31, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director, Chief Strategy Officer in RITES Limited.

MSTC is a PSU under the Ministry of Steel.

Earlier, PSU Watch had reported when Ghoshal was recommended for the post of CMD of MSTC by the PESB panel in its selection meeting held on September 25. He was recommended for the post from a list of nine candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel on the same day.

As CMD of MSTC, Ghoshal will be Chief Executive of the corporation and will be accountable to the board of directors and the Government. He will be responsible for the efficient functioning of the corporation and for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters.
