

New Delhi: State-run oil marketing company Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) has appointed Srividya Venkataraman as Director (Finance) on its Board with effect from June 24,following approval from the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.

According to a regulatory filing by the company, Venkataraman assumed charge as Director (Finance) on Wednesday. Her appointment has been made for a period of five years from the date of assumption of charge, or until the date of her superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Consequent to her appointment, the additional charge of Director (Finance) being held by K S Shetty, Director (Human Resources), has come to an end.
Prior to joining HPCL, Venkataraman was serving as Executive Director (Corporate Treasury) at Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL). She has more than three decades of experience in the Indian energy sector and possesses expertise in treasury management, taxation, risk management, investor relations, capital markets and business finance.
At BPCL, she was responsible for treasury, insurance, investor relations, pension fund investments, pricing and taxation. During her tenure, she played a key role in managing the company’s capital structure, investment strategy and risk management framework. She also led project financing initiatives exceeding Rs 30,000 crore for strategic growth projects.
Over the course of her career, Venkataraman held several leadership positions across BPCL’s treasury, retail and LPG businesses. As Finance Head of the retail business, she contributed to business expansion, digital transformation, cost optimisation and governance initiatives.

She also played an important role in the implementation of major government schemes, including the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) programme and the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, facilitating efficient subsidy transfers and expanding access to clean cooking fuel.
Venkataraman has been associated with several major financial initiatives, including BPCL’s maiden international bond issuance, external commercial borrowings, pension fund management, insurance optimisation and investor engagement programmes. She has also led the implementation of digital finance solutions aimed at improving operational efficiency and governance.
A Chartered Accountant and Cost & Works Accountant, Venkataraman has served on the boards of Kannur International Airport Limited, BPCL KIAL Fuel Farm Facilities Pvt. Ltd. and FFPL Finserv Pvt. Ltd., contributing to corporate governance and strategic oversight.
