New Delhi: The government has decided to entrust the additional charge of the post of Director (HR) of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) to Sujoy Choudhary, Director (P&BD), a letter reviewed by PSU Watch shows. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas’ proposal to entrust “additional charge of the post of Director (HR), IOCL to Shri Sujoy Chaudhary, Director (P&BD)…,” said the letter dated May 2.
In the same letter, the ACC said that it has also approved the ministry’s proposal for “non-extension of service tenure of Shri Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra, Director (HR), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) with immediate effect.” Choudhary will hold the additional charge of the Indian Oil Director (HR) post with effect from the date of “non-extension of service tenure of Shri Ranjan Kumar Mohapatra (May 2) till the appointment of a regular incumbent to the post of Director (HR), IOCL, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.”
The ACC decision has set off an internal reshuffle within Indian Oil, as an officer who was earlier slated to be posted as Executive Director (Regional Services), Western Region Office, will now be posted as Executive Director I/c (HR) at IOC’s corporate office in Delhi — Subimal Mondal. Mondal is currently Executive Director (Lubes). Sources said that Mondal has earlier served as ED (HR).
“He will be relieved from the current assignment on 31.05.2023 or earlier…,” said an internal order dated May 3. Mondal will report directly to Choudhary, who now holds additional charge of the Director (HR) post.
