New Delhi: Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) on Thursday announced the appointed of two Independent Directors on its Board. According to the company's statement, Rohini Rawat and Ram Nihal have been appointed as Independent Directors on its board with effect from March 9, 2023.
Rawat is post graduate in M.A. (Economics) from Rohilkhand University, Bareilly (Uttar Pradesh). She is serving the society as a Social Worker. She formerly served as Chairperson of Municipal Council Joshimath from 2013 to 2018 and was awarded 1st prize for her valuable contribution towards the Solid Waste Management by the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand in 2017. From 2004 to 2007, she served as a member of the Uttarakhand State Women Commission.
The Corporate Governance compliance requirement of having one women Director on the Board has now been achieved with the induction of Rohini Rawat.
Nihal holds bachelor's degree in law as well as in the commerce. He is currently a lawyer and a member of Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh. He also organises yoga camps in various districts of Uttar Pradesh and raise awareness about the health issues.
IREDA’s CMD Pradip Kumar Das welcomed the new members to the Board and said, “their vast experience and expertise in the different fields will be invaluable to IREDA as we continue to expand our operations and play a leading role in the development of the renewable energy in India. We are certain that the company will continue to maintain the highest levels of corporate governance standards with the support of the new Independent Directors.”
