KC Panigrahy assumes charge as Director General of BEE

New Delhi: New Delhi: Krushna Chandra Panigrahy has assumed charge as Director General (DG) of Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), the agency said in a post on X, on January 22. Prior to this, he was serving as Director (Sustainable Business Development) at Renurture Sustainable Solutions.

Panigrahy is a seasoned operations and energy efficiency leader with over 27 years of experience in large-scale industrial operations, operational excellence, safety and sustainability.

Panigrahy held senior leadership roles in the private sector, including Operations Director at Air Liquide India Pvt. Ltd. where he led multi-plant operational transformation, drove significant cost savings through Lean Six Sigma and digital initiatives, and sustained exceptional safety and plant performance. He also served as Director at Re-Nurture Sustainable Solutions LLP, focusing on sustainable technologies and clean-energy solutions.

His expertise encompasses operational efficiency, safety culture, business transformation, and the implementation of sustainability initiatives that align with national energy and climate goals. Under his leadership at BEE, India continues to strengthen its energy efficiency frameworks and industry engagement to support sustainable development and energy transition objectives.

The Govt has set up Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) on March 1, 2002 under the Ministry of Power. The mission of BEE is to assist in developing policies and strategies with a thrust on self-regulation and market principles with the primary objective of reducing energy intensity of the Indian economy.
