New Delhi: Lalit Bohra (IRTS) has been appointed as Government Nominee Director on the Board of Power Grid Corporation of India on Tuesday. The Ministry of Power, through an order issued on June 18, has conveyed the appointment of Bohra as Part-time Director (Government Nominee Director) on the Board of Power Grid with immediate effect. This information has been shared by the Maharatna Power PSU in a regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Tuesday.

He has been appointed to the post with immediate effect (i.e. June 18), till the date of superannuation or till any other appointment made or till further orders, whichever is earlier, Power Grid further informed.

Bohra is an Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) officer of 1998 Batch. Presently, he is serving as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Govt of India.

Bohra is an Electrical Engineer from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and an MBA (Finance) from Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani. As Joint Secretary at MNRE, he is looking after wind energy including offshore wind and transmission system including Green Energy Corridors. Before this, he was looking after solar energy which includes PLI Scheme for solar manufacturing, rooftop solar programme, PM KUSUM Scheme, CPSU Scheme and battery storage etc. He was also Director General of National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE).
