New Delhi: AL Prabhakar, who is currently serving as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Madras Fertilizers Limited (MFL), a PSU under the administrative control of the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, has been given a tenure extension on his post for a period of two years. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the services of Prabhakar have been extended for a period of two years beyond July 26, 2020, up to July 26, 2022, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Prabhakar is an Indian Railway Stores Service (IRSS) officer of 1990-batch. He has been serving as CVO of MFL since July 2017.

Madras Fertilizers Limited is a Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) company in India under the administrative control of the Department of Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. The company was incorporated in December 1966 as a joint venture between the government and AMOCO India Incorporation of USA (AMOCO) with the Centre holding 51 percent of the equity share capital. The company is engaged in the manufacture of ammonia, urea and complex fertilizers at Manali, Chennai. The company is the first PSU in the fertilizer industry to get the ISO 9002 certification.
