NHPC appoints Dr Bernadette Lyngdoh as Independent Director on Board

New Delhi: State-owned NHPC Limited has announced the appointment of Dr Bernadette Lyngdoh as an Independent Director on its Board with effect from July 24.

The Ministry of Power has approved her appointment for a period of three years from July 16, 2026, the date of notification, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

In a regulatory filing to the stock exchnages on July 24, NHPC said the appointment was made by its Board of Directors pursuant to the Ministry of Power's letter dated July 16, 2026.

Dr Lyngdoh is a human resources and corporate affairs professional with over two decades of experience across corporate leadership, academia and organisational development. She currently serves as Head – HR & Corporate Affairs at Caliche, where she oversees human capital strategy, corporate governance support, stakeholder engagement and people development initiatives.

She holds a doctorate from The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), Hyderabad, and has worked extensively in leadership development, corporate communication, employee engagement and organisational effectiveness.

According to NHPC, she is recognised for her people-centric leadership approach and her focus on building inclusive workplaces, strengthening governance practices and fostering sustainable organisational growth.
