New Delhi: Abhoy Kumar Mishra, Head of Project (HOP) at NTPC Limited's Dadri station, has been appointed as Executive Director (ED) of the company, marking another milestone in his distinguished career spanning more than 35 years in the power sector.

Mishra, who joined NTPC as an Executive Trainee in the Mechanical stream on October 25, 1990, has made significant contributions across plant operations, maintenance planning, overhaul management and operational leadership during his tenure with the country's largest power utility.
Born on September 23, 1966, in Odisha, Mishra holds a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology Sarang and an M.Tech in Power Generation Technology from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
Over the course of his career, he has served at several key NTPC power stations, including NTPC Korba, NTPC Talcher Kaniha, NTPC Simhadri, NTPC Tanda and NTPC Dadri. During these assignments, he handled diverse responsibilities related to operations, maintenance planning, long-term planning and outage management.
Prior to taking charge at NTPC Dadri, Mishra served as Head of Operations and Maintenance at NTPC Tanda. He joined NTPC Dadri in May 2025 as Chief General Manager (O&M) and was subsequently designated as Head of Project.
On June 8, 2026, he was elevated to the position of Executive Director.
