Paresh Ranpara takes charge as Director (HR) of Grid India

New Delhi: Paresh Ranpara has assumed charge as Director (Human Resources) of Grid Controller of India Limited (Grid India) on Wednesday. Previously, he was serving as General Manager (Human Resources) of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL).

Earlier, PSU Watch had reported when Ranpara was recommended for the post of Director (HR) of Grid-India by the PESB selection on February 9. He was selected for the post from a list of five candidates, who were interviewed by the panel in its selection meeting.

In his new role as Director (HR) of Grid India, Ranpara will be overall in charge of coordinating and implementing human resource policies, talent management, human resource development and other strategic HR functions within the organisation.

Ranpara, a highly experienced HR professional with over 28 years of expertise in the power sector, has made significant contributions to both state-owned and private companies in Gujarat. As the HR Head of GUVNL, he played a crucial role in policy-making for the group companies.

He was actively involved in process of unbundling of erstwhile GEB and steered communication exercise for making it the smoothest transition. He was involved in designing performance management system, organisation restructuring, right-sizing, manpower planning and had steered the succession planning for senior positions in MGVCL (DISCOM). He is also certified assessor from XLRI. He has taken various HR initiatives for promoting culture of innovation and creativity and to meet the requirement of new skill in view of penetration of renewable energy and other challenges for reskilling. He is strong believer in team work and giving platform to the right talent in the organization.

Grid-India's CMD SR Narasimhan, Director (Market Operation) SS Barpanda, Regional heads and other senior officials welcomed Ranpara in the organisation.
