New Delhi: Parminder Chopra is set to be next Chairman & Managining Director (CMD) of Power Finance Corporation (PFC) Limited. She has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Monday. Presently, she is serving as Director (Finance) in the same organisation.
Chopra has been recommended for the post of CMD of PFC from a list of nine candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB panel in its selection meeting held on May 8. Out of nine candidates, four candidates were from PFC and one each from Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), Housing & Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO), Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) and NMDC Limited.
Chopra holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and is a qualified Cost Accountant and MBA. She has been serving as Director (Finance) of PFC since on July 1, 2020. She has more than 32 years of experience in power sector, serving in key power sector organizations like NHPC and Power Grid. She joined PFC in 2005 and was working as an Executive Director (Finance) before assuming charge as Director (Finance) of PFC.
She has handled a gamut of finance portfolios such as resource mobilization from domestic as well as international markets, banking & treasury, asset liability management, stressed assets resolution etc.
