

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), the head-hunting body for the PSUs, has not been able to find any suitable candidate for the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a PSU under the Ministry of Port, Shipping and Waterways. The selection panel's interview-cum selection meeting was held on Friday, in which a total of two candidates appeared.

According to the PESB meeting minutes, two candidates were interviewed for the top post. These included Dr S Harikrishnan, Director (Operations) at Cochin Shipyard Limited, and Biju George, Director (Shipbuilding) at Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited (MDL).

“The Board did not recommend any candidate for the post and advised the Administrative Ministry/Department to choose an appropriate course of further action for selection including the Search-cum-Selection Committee (SCSC) or as deemed appropriate with the approval of the competent authority,” the PESB minutes stated.
The top position in the shipyard has been lying vacant since February 1. However, the company’s Director (Finance), Jose VJ, is holding additional charge of the CMD post.
