PESB picks N Franklin Jayakumar for SECL's Director (Technical) post

New Delhi: N Franklin Jayakumar is set to be next Director (Technical) of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a PSU under the Ministry of Coal. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Tuesday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director in NLC India Limited.

Jayakumar has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of SECL from a list of 12 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB panel in its selection meeting held on November 7. Out of 12 candidates, three candidates were from Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), two from Western Coalfields Limited (WCL), two from NLC India Limited, two from Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) and one each from Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), CMPDIL and NMDC Limited.

As Director (Technical) of SECL, Jayakumar will be a member of the Board of Directors of CCL and will report to Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for operation of mines and also of field activities, technical functions and safety of mines.
