

New Delhi: Akhilesh Pathak is set to become next Director (Projects) of Power Grid, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Tuesday. Currently, he is serving as Executive Director (Project Management) in the same organisation.

Pathak has been recommended for the post of Director (Projects) of Power Grid from a panel of 12 candidates drawn from various public sector enterprises, government organisations and the railways. The recommendation was made during the PESB selection meeting held on June 30.
The candidates who appeared for the selection interview included senior executives from Power Grid, NHPC, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), Engineers India Limited (EIL), the Visakhapatnam Special Economic Zone (VSEZ) and the Ministry of Railways.

As Director (Projects), Pathak will be a member of the Board of Directors of Power Grid and will be responsible for overseeing the company's project planning, execution and implementation activities related to transmission infrastructure and associated businesses.
The appointment will take effect after obtaining the requisite approvals from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
