PESB recommends Amit Mitra for ONGC Videsh's Director (Finance) post

New Delhi: Amit Mitra to head finance portfolio of ONGC Videsh Limited. The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended his name for appointment as Director (Finance) of ONGC Videsh on Tuesday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director and Executive Assistant to the CMD of Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)

Mitra has been recommended for the post of Director (Finance) of ONGC Videsh from a list of 12 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting no. 78/2026, held on September 15. The other candidates interviewed were:

1. Ajit Singh – Executive Director, Chief Internal Audit, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC)

2. Amit Mitra – Executive Director, Executive Assistant to CMD, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)

3. Rajiv Arun Malkan – Executive Director, International Trade, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)

4. Kamal Chopra – Director (Finance), Bharat Petro Resources Limited (BPRL)

5. B. Karthikeyan – Chief General Manager, CGM-IMPEX and Shipping, Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL)

6. Deepak Kumar – Chief Financial Officer, CFO-ISPRL, Noida, Mangalore Refinery & Petrochemicals Limited

7. Dhiraj Murari Umredkar – Group General Manager, Controller of Finance, NTA and CPD, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC)

8. Jagdish Prasad – Chief General Manager, Head All Trust, Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC)

9. Uttam Paul – General Manager, General Manager (Finance and Accounts), FHQ, Oil India Limited

10. Achint Kapur – General Manager, General Manager (Finance), Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL)

11. Shantanu Sengupta – General Manager, ERP Lead, SAP FICO Specialisation, Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL)

12. Pawan Kumar Tulsiyan – General Manager, General Manager (Finance and Accounts), GAIL (India) Limited

The PESB recommendation will now be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval. The appointment of Amit Mitra as Director (Finance) of ONGC Videsh Limited will take effect subject to the approval of the competent authority.
