PESB recommends Anupam Misra for HCL’s CMD post

New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has recommended the name of Anupam Misra for the post of Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Hindustan Copper Limited (HCL) on Thursday. Currently, he is serving as Director (Marketing) at The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT).

The recommendation was made during a PESB selection meeting held on March 12, for the top post in the Schedule ‘A’ public sector enterprise.

According to the PESB minutes, several candidates were interviewed for the position, including Nagesh Shenoy, Executive Director at Hindustan Copper Limited; Umesh Singh, Executive Director (Mining) at the corporate centre of HCL; Binod Kumar Gupta, Executive Director (Mining) at HCL’s corporate office in Kolkata; and Rakesh Tumane, Director (Finance) at MOIL Limited.

Following the interviews, the board recommended Misra for the CMD post of Hindustan Copper Limited.

The recommendation will now be forwarded to the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) for final approval.

Hindustan Copper Limited, a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Mines, is India’s only vertically integrated public sector copper producer engaged in mining, beneficiation, smelting and refining operations.
