PESB recommends Pankaj Malhotra for AAI's Member (Finance) post

New Delhi: Pankaj Malhotra is set to be the next Member (Finance) of Airports Authority of India (AAI), a PSU under the Ministry of Civil Aviation. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Friday. Presently, he is serving as Executive Director Central Electronics Limited (CEL).

However, the appointment of Malhotra as a Member (Finance) of AAI will only be effective after the ACC's approval. And this recommendation is subjected to a final outcome of a case filed in the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi. "The above recommendation is subject to the final outcome of the LPA No. 752 of 2022 filed in the Hon'ble High Court of Delhi," the PESB said in its notification.

Malhotra has been recommended for the post of Member (Finance) of AAI from a list of seven candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel. Out of seven candidates four candidates were from AAI and one each from Electronics Corporation of India Ltd (ECIL) and HLL Lifecare Limited.

As Member (Finance) of AAI, Malhotra will be a member of the Board of AAI and will report to Chairman. He will be overall in charge of finance, accounts and financial operation of the organisation. He shall also be responsible for evolving, formulating policies and strategies relating to the entire gamut of financial operation, including resource mobilization and statutory compliances.
