New Delhi: The Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB), the public sector head-hunter body which is scouting for Indian Oil Corporation’s (IOC) next Director (R&D), has shortlisted eight candidates for the interview round, an official order accessed by PSU Watch showed. The interviews are slated to take place on September 12 between 9.30 am and 11.30 am. The interviews will be conducted via video conferencing. Pankaj Jain, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, is also expected to be present at the selection meeting.

Indian Oil Director (R&D): Shortlisted candidates

Barring one candidate, all those shortlisted for the interview round are from within Indian Oil. The list of those shortlisted from within Indian Oil includes, Dr Umish Srivastva, ED, Alok Sharma, ED, Ajay Kumar Harinarain, CGM at CHT (on deputation from Indian Oil), Dr Alex C Pulikottil, CGM, Sarvesh Kumar, CGM, M Sithananthan, GM, and Dr Satyen Kumar Das, GM. One candidate on the list is from BPCL — Ravi Kumar Voolapalli, CGM. The candidates have been asked to submit a presentation on their achievements before the interview date.

The position of Director (R&D) at Indian Oil has been lying vacant since Dr SSV Ramakumar superannuated on July 31 this year. The position of Director (R&D) at Indian Oil had been a bone of contention last year when the board was considering the post altogether. PSU Watch was the first to report on the plan, after which the proposal was rejected by the Petroleum Ministry.
