New Delhi: State-owned Power Grid on Friday announced the appointment of Naveen Srivastava as the company's Director (Operations).
Prior to his new role, Srivastava was serving as an Executive Director in Northern Region-III in the company. He is an accomplished electrical engineer, having graduated in Electrical Engineering (Hons.) from the prestigious National Institute of Technology - Durgapur, and has honed his leadership skills through a General Management Programme at the Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, and the Harvard Manage Mentor program at Harvard Business School.
With over two decades of experience in operations, Shri Srivastava has consistently driven success across multiple facets, including Operations and Maintenance (O&M), Testing and Commissioning (T&C), and cutting-edge SCADA and communication technologies. His leadership was instrumental in completing the renowned underground cabling project in Old Kashi (Varanasi), which garnered accolades from the Hon'ble Chief Minister and international dignitaries. Further, he played a pivotal role towards commissioning of 765 kV Pooling Substation at Bilaspur along with adaptation of new Technologies such as Remote Operation of HVDC Rihand-Dadri Link and HVDC Vindhyachal BTB Link, STATCOM (+/-300 MVAR) at Lucknow, UP for dynamic stability, Establishment of Centralized monitoring of communication system of Regional Load dispatch system under UNMS etc.
Srivastava spearheaded the World Bank and Ministry of Power-funded NERPSIP (North-Eastern Region Power System Improvement Project) project across six northeastern states for two years. His expertise in enhancing communication links for critical 132 kV lines and his role in commissioning the RTU and SCADA system in Goa, alongside SLDC at Panjim, underscore his commitment to excellence. As Regional Head for POWERGRID’s NER and NR-III regions, Srivastava's leadership has transformed transmission system performance, setting benchmarks that resonate with the highest standards within Power Grid
