

New Delhi: Rabindra Kumar Agarwal (IAS) has assumed charge as new Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) of Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC). This information has been shared by the warehousing PSU in a social media post on X.

Agarwal is a 1997-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of Kerala cadre. Presently, he is serving as Chairman & Managing Director of Food Corporation of India (FCI).
With his new responsibility, Agarwal has replaced Ashutosh Agnihotri (IAS), who has been appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC).

Originally hailing from Chaibasa, Jharkhand, Agarwal brings an extensive academic background to the role, holding a Graduate degree in Mathematics and a Post Graduate degree in Operations Research from Delhi University, alongside advanced credentials from Duke University.
Over a distinguished career spanning nearly three decades, he has successfully managed complex portfolios across both state and central administrations, leveraging his multilingual proficiency in English, Hindi, and Malayalam.
His diverse institutional expertise includes high-profile assignments such as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Cooperation, Principal Secretary in the Finance Department of Kerala, and Deputy Director of Administration at AIIMS, New Delhi. Additionally, he completed a pivotal five-year tenure as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Shipping, establishing himself as a highly capable policymaker equipped to drive the strategic development of India's warehousing and logistics infrastructure.
