New Delhi: (PESB Recommendation) Rajesh Kumar is set to be Director (Technical) of Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL), a PSU under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). Rajesh Kumar's name has been recommended by a Public Sector Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Wednesday. He is currently serving as General Manager (Stores & Purchase/Mill Safety) in the same organisation. He has been recommended for the post of Director (Technical) of UCIL from a list of seven candidates, who were interviewed by the selection panel. There were a total of four candidates in the list who were from UCIL, two candidates were from NMDC Limited and one candidate from Geological Survey of India Engineering Service. Rajesh Kumar will replace SR Pranesh (once he superannuates) who is serving as Director (Technical) in the organisation currently.

As Director (Technical) of UCIL, Rajesh will head the technical division of the company and will be responsible for the operation of mines and plants and also execution of projects. He will exercise statutory and corporate responsibilities for the efficient and profitable operation of the company and provide technical guidance.

Uranium Corporation of India (UCIL)

Uranium Corporation of India (UCIL) is a centrally owned Public Sector Undertaking (PSU), under the Department of Atomic Energy for uranium mining and uranium processing. The corporation was founded in 1967 and is responsible for the mining and milling of uranium ore in India. The UCIL operates six underground mines (Bagjata, Jaduguda, Bhatin, Narwapahar, Turamdih and Mohuldih) and one open-pit mine (Banduhurang) in the State of Jharkhand. Ore produced from these mines are processed in two process plants located at Jaduguda and Turamdih.
