Rekha Pandey set to be next Director (Personnel) of MCL

New Delhi: Rekha Pandey is set to be next Director (Personnel) of Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL), a PSU under the Ministry of Coal. She has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Tuesday. Presently, she is serving as General Manager General Manager (HR/CSR) at Coal India Limited (CIL).

Pandey has been recommended for the post of Director (Personnel) of MCL from a list of 11 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel, in its selection meeting no 60/2026 held on July 14. The other candidates included senior executives from Coal India Limited, South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), RITES Limited, Power Finance Corporation (PFC), MSTC Limited and the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT).

As Director (Personnel) of MCL, Pandey will be a member of Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). She will be overall in-charge of coordinating and implementing personnel and industrial relations policies, management functions, administrative control etc. in the organisation.

The appointment will be effective after the recommendation receives the necessary approvals from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
