

New Delhi: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has appointed T N Natarajan as Director (Commercial) with effect from March 19, following nomination by the Government of India and approval of the company’s Board. Prior to this elevation, Natarajan was serving as Chief General Manager in SAIL.

Natarajan joined SAIL in 1993 as a Management Trainee at Bhilai Steel Plant and brings over 32 years of experience across production, logistics, and sales. Over his career, he has held key positions in the Central Marketing Organisation, including roles in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Trichy, and most recently served as Regional Manager (Western Region).

He has been credited with driving market expansion, strengthening customer engagement, and enhancing SAIL’s presence in high-margin segments such as fabrication, pre-engineered buildings, and oil and gas. He also played a key role in shifting the company’s marketing approach towards solution-oriented engagement and spearheaded initiatives like the establishment of SAIL’s first Ready-to-Use TMT service centre at Kalamboli.
SAIL said his leadership has contributed to improved market share, profitability, and brand strengthening, while also fostering talent development and customer-centric strategies across regions.
