New Delhi: Sanjeev Mehta has been appointed as Director on the board of Gujarat State Financial Corporation (GSFC). The Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) has nominated him for the post in place of KR Balasubramaniyan, who will be resigning from the Board in view of his transfer. Mehta is currently serving as Senior Divisional Manager (Gandhinagar Divisional Office, Gandhinagar) of LIC of India. This information has been shared by the company in the regulatory filing to the stock exchange on Friday.
Mehta holds double post-graduate degrees in arts and philosophy. He started his career as a direct recruit officer of the 19th batch with the LIC of India in 1992. He possesses 29 years of experience in various departments of LIC of India in different capacities. Prior to joining as Senior Divisional Manager at Gandhinagar Divisional Office of LIC of India, he was holding the same position at LIC, Thane. He is not holding Directorship in any other company or organisation or any shares of the corporation in his individual capacity. He is not related to any Director or Key Managerial Personnel of the corporation.
Gujarat State Financial Services Limited (GSFS) is a government of Gujarat undertaking and is registered with RBI as a Non-Banking Finance (NBFC) company. It has been given the mandate by the state government to manage the surplus funds of various government of Gujarat controlled organisations and PSUs of the state. Thus it acts as an in-house fund manager to the various state-owned entities.
