
New Delhi: Sanjib Kumar Suar has assumed charge as the new Head of Project of NTPC Kanti. Prior to this, he was serving as Executive Director in the same organisation. An accomplished professional with nearly four decades of association with the company, Suar took charge on September 4, 2025.
A 1986-batch Executive Trainee, Suar holds a B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Sambalpur University and an M. Tech. in Power Generation Technology from IIT Delhi. Over the course of his career, he has held key positions across NTPC’s major power stations, including Vindhyachal, Talcher Kaniha, Raipur, Jhajjar and North Karanpura, gaining extensive experience in electrical maintenance, transformers, switchgears, protection systems and O&M management.
Promoted as Executive Director in March 2025, Suar most recently served as Head of Project at NTPC North Karanpura before his appointment at Kanti. He has also undergone advanced technical and leadership training at NTPC’s Power Management Institute, in addition to specialised programmes in generator protection, safety leadership, energy efficiency and management development at premier institutes in India and abroad.
On assuming charge, Suar said, “It is a privilege to lead NTPC Kanti. My focus will be on ensuring operational excellence, strengthening safety and sustainability, and fostering strong community development initiatives. Through our CSR activities, we will continue to support education, healthcare, and livelihood opportunities, while working towards the holistic development of Kanti and the surrounding areas.”
