Shambhu Sharma set to be next Director (Operations) of India Optel Ltd

New Delhi: Shambhu Sharma is set to be next Director (Operations) of India Optel Limited, a PSU under the Ministry of Defence. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on September 19. Presently, he is serving as Additional General Manager (OLF) in the organisation.

Sharma has been recommended for the post from a list of four candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on September 19. The other candidates on the list were one each from Indian Ordnance Factories Service, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited and Central Electronics Limited.

India Optel Limited is an Indian state-owned defence company, headquartered in Dehradun. It was established in 2021 as part of the restructuring and corporatization of the Ordnance Factory Board into seven different PSUs. India Optel primarily manufactures Electro-optical sensors, weapon sights and communication equipment for the use of the Indian Armed Forces and foreign militaries.
