Shelly Srivastava (IRTS) joins ONGC as CVO
New Delhi: Shelly Srivastava (IRTS) has assumed charge as Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG), on Friday. She is a senior officer of the Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS) and a seasoned public administrator with over two decades of experience in governance, operations and institutional management.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) had cleared her appointment on December 31, 2025. As per DoPT order, her tenure will be up to November 2, 2027, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
In a post on social media X, ONGC extended a warm welcome to Srivastava, highlighting her extensive experience in public administration and her distinguished career in IRTS. The Maharatna PSU noted that her strong understanding of institutional governance, vigilance systems and ethical leadership is expected to further strengthen ONGC’s framework of transparency, accountability and integrity.
The company expressed confidence that Srivastava’s leadership will reinforce its commitment to the highest standards of probity and good governance during her tenure as CVO.
In her career with Indian Railways, Srivastava has built strong credentials in public administration, institutional governance and vigilance frameworks. She has also served on deputation as General Manager (NGET) at the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) for a five-year period, where she was associated with technology-driven initiatives critical to railway operations and management. She holds the rank of Selection Grade (SG) in the railway hierarchy.
Srivastava’s core areas of expertise include railway operations, vigilance and compliance mechanisms, ethical leadership, and strengthening systems of transparency and accountability. At ONGC, she is expected to play a pivotal role in reinforcing the organisation’s vigilance framework and upholding the highest standards of probity and good governance.
