New Delhi: SJVN Limited has announced that Sipan Kumar Garg has assumed additional charge as Director (Finance) of the company, effective July 10. The appointment has been made in accordance with an order issued by the Ministry of Power on July 9.

Garg, currently serving as Director (Finance) at THDC, has been entrusted with this additional responsibility for a period of three months or until a full-time appointment is made, whichever is earlier. He succeeds Rajendra Prasad Goyal, who held the additional charge until June 30.

A seasoned finance professional with over 23 years of experience in the power sector, Garg holds multiple professional qualifications including Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost Accountant (CMA), and Company Secretary (CS), along with a degree in Law (LL.B.). He has also been a rank holder in the Company Secretary examination.

Prior to joining THDC, Garg served in various leadership roles at NTPC Limited and its group companies, including as CFO of Aravali Power Company Pvt Ltd and Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd. His contributions at NTPC included significant achievements in corporate finance, strategic accounting, and project finance, notably during his tenure at the Koldam Hydro Power Project.

He is known for his active engagement in the financial professional community and has served on several key committees of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). In 2024, he was recognised as the “Visionary CFO of India” at the National Economic Growth Summit and received accolades from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) for his contributions to the profession.
