SJVN appoints Arti Kujur as Independent Director on its Board

New Delhi: State-owned SJVN Limited has appointed Arti Kujur as an Independent Director on its Board for a period of three years. According to an order issued from the Ministry of Power, the appointment is effective from July 15, 2026 until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Kujur is a social worker from Ranchi, Jharkhand, with a Bachelor's degree, postgraduate degrees in Political Science and Public Administration, and an LL.B. from Ranchi University.

Kujur served as a Member of the Ranchi Zila Parishad from November 2010 to March 2022, where she worked on administrative and development issues in rural and tribal areas. Her responsibilities included facilitating access to government welfare schemes, coordinating with government departments and conducting community awareness programmes.

She also served as Chairperson of the Jharkhand State Commission for Protection of Child Rights from April 2016 to April 2019. During her tenure, she worked on issues related to child protection, rehabilitation and community welfare, coordinating with multiple government agencies and legal authorities to address child trafficking, child labour, denial of education, malnutrition, exploitation and sexual harassment. She was also involved in the rescue, rehabilitation, counselling and legal support of affected children.
