New Delhi: State-owned NMDC Steel Limited said in a regulatory filing that the Ministry of Steel has appointed Vishwanath Suresh as Director (Commercial) of the company. Further, the filing said that he is not debarred from holding the office of Director by virtue of any SEBI order or any other such authority. He is also not related to any of the directors in the company, it stated.
Vishwanath Suresh assumed office of the Director (Commercial) at NMDC Limited on March 1. Prior to his appointment as a Functional Director on the Board of NMDC Limited, Suresh held the post of Executive Director (Coal Import) shouldering the responsibility of procuring over 15 MTPA of imported coal for SAIL and also held additional charge of ED (Corporate Materials Management). With a long service spanning over three decades at SAIL, his career is marked by versatile experience in fields like sales and marketing of Steel- both in domestic and International markets, procurements, strategic management, and policy. By virtue of Commercial acumen, leadership qualities, and clarity of objectives, he gained expertise in all his field of work. Working with a motto of providing the stakeholders with complete satisfaction, he took numerous initiatives for systems improvement and boosting sales and revenue wherever he was posted. He is an alumnus of the prestigious National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (formerly REC Rourkela) from where he holds a Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering. With a view to upgrading skills and mastering new knowledge, he added more qualifications as his career progressed with a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) in Marketing. He also holds a certificate in Advanced Strategic Management course from llM Kozhikode.
