Vamsi Ramamohan Burra assumes charge as Director (Projects) of Power Grid

New Delhi: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has announced the appointment of Vamsi Ramamohan Burra as its new Director (Projects). Burra has taken over charge of the post with effect from Wednesday.

This decision, approved by the board of directors of Power Grid during their meeting held on November 13, is in line with an official order from the Ministry of Power.

Burra was recommended for the post of Director (Projects) of Power Grid by the PESB Selection panel, in its selection meeting held on July 16.

Burra, an engineering graduate with a post-graduate diploma in Management, brings over three decades of experience in the power and telecom sectors. Known for his expertise in project implementation and procurement management, Burra has been instrumental in Power Grid’s involvement in competitive bidding within the transmission sector. Previously, he served as CEO of POWERGRID Teleservices Limited, where he led key initiatives that strengthened the company's project delivery and procurement operations.

The Board has confirmed that Burra’s term will last for five years from the date of his appointment or until further orders, whichever is earlier. The board also verified that Burra is eligible for the role with no disqualifications as per SEBI or any other regulatory body.
