New Delhi: Vamsi Ramamohan Burra is set to be the next Director (Projects) of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power. He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) on Tuesday. Presently, he is serving as CEO & Director at Power Grid Teleservices Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Grid.
Burra has been recommended for the post of Director (Projects) of Power Grid from a list of 10 candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on July 16. Out of 10 candidates, seven candidates were from Power Grid and one each from GAIL (India) Limited, PFC and BSPHCL.
As Director (Projects) of Power Grid, Burra will be a member of Board of Directors and will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will be responsible for ensuring timely construction, erection, completion and commissioning of projects under the corporation as per the desired quality and cost framework through effective Project Management System.
