Vijay Chand takes charge as Head of NTPC Talcher Thermal Power Project

New Delhi: Vijay Chand has taken charge as the new Head of Project at NTPC Talcher Thermal, effective July 10, 2024. With a distinguished career spanning over three decades, Chand brings extensive experience and expertise in the power sector to his new role.

A Mechanical Engineering graduate, Chand began his remarkable journey with NTPC as an Executive Trainee in 1989. Over the years, he has held several key positions across various NTPC locations, including Kahalgaon, Badarpur, Meja, Darlipalli, and the EOC in Noida. His leadership and dedication have been exemplary in every role he has undertaken.

Before his current appointment, Chand served as the Head of Project at NTPC Badarpur. In his new role at NTPC Talcher Thermal, he will be responsible for overseeing all activities and coordinating efforts with the ongoing project work of Stage-III units of 1320 MW at Talcher Thermal in Odisha.

Talcher Thermal is confident that under Vijay Chand’s leadership, the project will continue to achieve new heights of success and contribute significantly to the power sector. His vision and expertise are expected to drive growth, innovation, and operational excellence, reinforcing NTPC's commitment to powering India's progress.
