New Delhi: 30th Regional Meet of Women in Public Sector (WIPS) Forum, Western Region, under the aegis of SCOPE was held at a beautiful destination of Goa on November 12, 2022. The theme of the Meet was "WOW-Wisdom of Women – Born to Lead."

The chief guest for the meet was Deepali Naik, Director, Woman and Child Development, Panaji, Goa and the Guest of Honour was Mahesh Malkarnekar, CGM, Goa Shipyard Ltd.

The meet was inaugurated in an Indian traditional way by offering Prayer in the form of classical dance by one of the participants, followed by the lighting of the Lamp by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour, President WIPS Western region and other dignitaries of Central body and Regional body of WIPS. Western Region Newsletter was released by the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and other dignitaries, during the Meet.

During the meet, "Best Activity Report Awards" were also given to the winning PSU members of WIPS, for various activities carried out by WIPS and other CSR, Social activities, in their respective organisations. The recognition award was given to ONGC, SECL, MDL, NPCIL. Whereas the first position was held by RCF, 2nd by Indian Oil and 3rd was SCI and HPCL.

The Chief Guest Deepali Naik addressed the august gathering and enlightened all with her experiences in her personal life as well as during various public positions held by her in government service. She also narrated on various developments and measures being taken by the government, for the welfare of Children and Women in Goa.

An interactive session called "Achievers Session" was arranged wherein two renowned women personalities of Goa were interviewed viz. Sunita Sawant, Supdt. of Police, Goa and Jennifer Lewis E Kamat, Director, Goa Chamber of Commerce. Both the dashing women of Goa took the audience through their journey from childhood to their present position.

Thereafter an interactive session was arranged with Rajee Guptan, Executive Director, NPCIL in "Executive Directors' Session. Rajee Guptan, being working in a PSU as an ED, explained the working style of PSUs, Promotion policies, etc.

Subsequent to this session eminent faculty Prof. Binay Kumar, Manushao Utthan addressed on the theme "WOW-WISDOM OF WOMEN" – Born to Lead" and role of WIPS to strengthen the women workforce of PSUs.

The meet was attended by about 160 women delegates from various WIPS PSU member organisations to name a few GSL, RCF, IOCL, ONGC, HPCL, SCI, MDL, NPCIL, SECL, WCL, ECGC LTD etc.

The meet ended with a traditional Goan cultural programme.

The vote of Thanks was proposed by Nanda Kulkarni, President WIPS-WR wherein the REB members, the EC members of WIPS and the management of GSL was thanked for their support to make this Regional meet a grand success.
