Railways is running special trains to deal with extra rush

To ensure the convenience and safety of the passengers in this festive season, Indian Railways is running nearly 200 pairs of special trains, also deployed additional security and services
New Delhi: Indian Railways is running 200 pairs of special trains across the country this festive season. In order to ensure the convenience and safety of the passengers, Indian Railways has rolled out nearly 2500 additional services in these trains during this festive season. To deal with the extra rush the special trains have been connected between major destinations across the country, Ministry of Railways said in a press release issued on Friday. The special trains are running from Durga Puja till Christmas this year, between major cities like Delhi- Patna, Delhi- Kolkata, Delhi- Mumbai, Mumbai- Lucknow, Chandigarh-Gorakhpur, Delhi - Chappra, Howrah-Katihar, Haridwar-Jabalpur etc.

What are the additional arrangements?

To ensure the safety of the passengers' Railways has deployed additional RPF personnel, crowed controlling measures by forming queues, orderly entry of passengers in unreserved coaches is being ensured. An additional staff of Engineering and Signal & Telecommunication Departments along with security personnel has been deployed at important Level Crossing Gates in busy railway sections. “May I Help You” booths are kept operational at important stations where RPF Personnel and TTEs are deputed for proper assistance and guidance of the passengers. Medical teams are available at major stations on call. The ambulance with the paramedical team is also available, the railways added. Adequate lighting arrangements are made at stations and at major level crossing gates for the convenience of rail and road users. Officers are deployed on Emergency Duty at major stations to ensure the smooth running of trains. Staffs are deployed in various sections to attend any disruption of train service on priority. Measures have been taken for the frequent and timely announcement of arrival/departure of trains with platform numbers.
