New Delhi: Rajarshi Gupta is set to be the next Managing Director of ONGC Videsh Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary and overseas arm of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC). He has been recommended for the post by the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) panel on Tuesday. He is currently serving as Executive Director in ONGC Limited.
Gupta has been recommended for the post of Managing Director of ONGC Videsh Limited from a list of six candidates, who were interviewed by the PESB selection panel in its selection meeting held on March 15. There were a total of three candidates including Gupta, who were on the list, were from ONGC and one each from ONGC Videsh Limited, Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL).
As Managing Director of ONGC Videsh Limited, Gupta will be the Chief Executive of the company reports to the CMD of the holding company and is accountable to its Board of Directors and the Government. He will be responsible for the efficient functioning of the company for achieving its corporate objectives and performance parameters.
