New Delhi: Rajesh Prasad is set to be new Director (Operations) of Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Railways. Prasad's name has been recommended by a Public Enterprise Selection Board (PESB) panel on Tuesday. Prasad is currently serving as Executive Director in the same organisation.

Prasad has been selected as Director (Operations) of RVNL from the list of five candidates who were interviewed in the selection meeting. A total of three candidates who were on the list were from the RVNL Limited and two others were from Indian Railways Service of Engineers (IRSE).

Prior to joining RVNL, he was working with Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE). He has wide experience in the field of the project management, construction, civil engineering and rail transport with government administrative industry.

He is currently handling many important infrastructure projects in and around Kolkata including the construction of Metro, Workshops, Factory at Dankuni and Haldia and Cable-Stayed Bridge.

Rajesh has done B Tech (civil engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur).
