RECPDCL celebrates its 16th Foundation Day

New Delhi: REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Limited, celebrated its 16th foundation day on July 13. RECPDCL was incorporated on July 12, 2007, with an objective to facilitate the State power utilities with its expertise to cater to the emerging demands and innovation in the power sector, especially across the transmission and distribution supply chain. With the amalgamation of its transmission entity RECTPCL, with RECPDCL, the company aims for a larger role in the advancement of the power sector in the country. From an initial capital of ₹5 lakhs, the net worth of the company has now grown to approx. Rs 329 crores.

RECPDCL is playing a major role in the implementation of power projects in the country. It has already completed the installation of more than 1 lakh Smart Prepaid Meters in Chandigarh and Jammu and Kashmir and has received work orders for the installation of about 1.5 crores of smart prepaid meters from several states. Under a tariff-based competitive bidding project, RECPDCL has transferred 38 interstate SPVs worth Rs 47,000 crores and a further Bid process is ongoing for 15 projects worth Rs 15,800 crores. In addition to this RECPDCL is implementing several projects of national importance like the Rural Feeder Monitoring System, National feeder Monitoring System, Urjamitra, and Unified Billing Solution for Discoms. So RECPDCL has a constant presence through its wide consultancy and execution business across the country.

The foundation day event was graced by Minister of State for Power and Heavy Industries Krishan Pal and Secretary (Power) Alok Kumar. The function was also attended by senior officials of the Ministry of Power – Ashish Upadhyaya – Additional Secretary and Vishal Kapoor – Joint Secretary (Distribution) and Vivek Kumar Dewangan, Chairman and Managing Director, REC Limited.

As part of the Foundation Day celebrations, RECPDCL acknowledged the efforts of its employees. The performers and achievers were felicitated by Minister for their contribution in RECPDCL.
