RINL celebrates its 38th Formation Day

Visakhapatnam: Union Minister for Petroleum, Natural Gas and Steel, Dharmendra Pradhan today congratulated RINL-VSP collective on the occasion of 38th Formation Day for its contribution towards Nation Building and asked RINL collective to continue to contribute for the national cause. He asked to mark this moment by rededicating for improving every possible aspect of efficiency in steelmaking in RINL banking on professional approach by identifying all opportunities to improve the efficiency to produce environmental friendly steel.

On the occasion, RINL's CMD PK Rath unveiled the Mahatma Gandhi Statue in the front lawns of the main administration building, to mark the RINL Formation Day on February 18, along with the Directors. CMD PK Rath and other dignitaries paid floral tributes to Mahatma on the occasion.

The Gandhi statue sculptured and cast with in-house talent, is going to be the main attraction to the Admn Building with the backdrop of a 100 feet High Mast National Flag.

Speaking on the occasion, Rath expressed his gratitude to the people who fought for the establishment of the steel plant. While praising the departments involved in making and erecting the statue, Rath observed that RINL collective proved their dynamism, innovativeness and inherent talent in making the statue with in-house talent. Rath dedicated the Gandhi statue to the entire plant collective.

The statue weighing with around four tons is the first of its kind made with cast iron.

RINL's Director (Personnel) KC Das, Director (Projects) KK Ghosh, Director (Operations) AK Saxena, CISF's Commandant Irphan Ahmed, RINL's Executive Director (I/c) Vidyasagar, Executive Director (Personnel & IR) Debaish Ray senior officials, large number of union representatives offered floral tributes to the Father of the Nation on the occasion.

To mark the Formation Day celebration, RINL's CMD PK Rath and Directors of RINL participated in a mass plantation in Ukkunagaram. KC Das, VV Venugopal Rao, KK Ghosh, AK Saxena, Director (Operations), Irphan Ahmed, Debaish Ray, senior officials, a large number of school children, CISF personnel, employees, representatives of unions actively participated in the plantation drive.

RINL's CMD also presented Jawaharlal Nehru Awards to 83 employees, both executives and non-executives for their outstanding performance. The celebrations also marked cultural programmes by school children of Ukkunagaram. A musical night by noted cine playback singer Sona Mohapatra & party enthralled the audience at the sprawling Trishna grounds in the township. K Dhanajaya Rao, a Tollywood cine playback singer enthralled the audience with old and new Telugu songs.

The 38th RINL Formation Day celebrations started on February 16, with a Vizag Steel Walkathon by PV Sindhu, Vizag Steel Brand Ambassador at the Beach road. A steel pavilion was also inaugurated by PK Rath on 17 February evening in Ukkunagarm.
