Hyderabad: RINL-VSP (Vizag Steel Plant) has been adjudged as “National Energy Leader" for winning "Excellent Energy Efficient Unit Award” for three consecutive years in 2017, 2018 and 2019 by Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Godrej Green Business Centre during 20th National Competition for Excellence in Energy Management held at Hyderabad on September 25.
The 'Excellent Energy Efficient unit Awards' were given away by Telangana State Genco & Transco's Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) D Prabhakar Rao and received by RINL's Deputy General Manager (EMD) I/c S K Nayak, Deputy General Manager (Operations) EMD K Sudhakar and Manager (M)-TPP K Brahmeswara Rao in the event. RINL's CMD PK Rath congratulated the employees for this one of a kind achievement and exhorted them to implement additional measures to reduce energy to achieve international benchmarks in energy consumption, a vital techno-economic factor in Steelmaking the process.

National Energy leader and Excellent Energy Efficient unit award have been conferred on RINL-VSP for consistent and progressive performance in energy management, excellent efforts undertaken towards Energy Conservation, Overall Specific Energy Consumption reduction, implementation of Energy Conservation Technologies (such as PCI in BF's, commissioning of COB-5 turbine), Energy Management System (ISO: 50001), Benchmarking, Road map to reduce energy conservation projects and waste recycling, various innovative. VSP employees also received national level ‘Viswakarma Rashtriya Purskar’ by Union Minister for Labour & Employment Santosh Gangwar recently.
