Vishakhapatnam: Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited- Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (RINL-VSP) conducted a full-scale mock drill to test the on-site emergency preparedness following an imaginary fire at crude and finished product storage of Benzol Plant. Emergency services like CISF Fire wing, Medical services, Gas Safety, Maintenance, safety department, CISF (Security) and HR dept etc. actively participated in this mock drill.

Joint Chief Inspector of Factories J Shiva Shankar Reddy witnessed the mock drill conducted under the guidance of RINL-VSP's Chief Emergency Co-ordinator, & Executive Director (Works) KV Vidyasagar. Reddy applauded the efforts of VSP in conducting the mock drill successfully.

During the mock drill, the fixed fire-fighting installations such as Shell Spray Sprinkler Systems, High Range Fire Monitor Systems, Foam Flooding Systems etc. were put in operation and other communication facilities like emergency manual call point and siren system were used.

RINL's Chief General Manager (Safety& Envi.) MSV Krishnaiah, General Manager (CO&CCP) SN Singh, General Manager (Safety) S Sanyal and General Manager (EMD) Uttam Brahma, the chief observer were present on the occasion.

The mock drill is also witnessed by Central Safety Committee members, safety representatives and employees and contract workers.
