SAIL is looking to hire Director (Technical, Projects & Raw Materials)

SAIL Recruitment 2021: Steel Authority of India (SAIL) has posted a job vacancy for the engagement of Director (Technical, Projects and Raw Materials). Eligible candidates can apply for the job before November 1.

Director (Technical, Projects and Raw Materials) is a key member of the Board and reports to the Chairman. He/She ensures effective adoption of the latest technologies and operational strategies, project management capabilities for efficient, optimum and smooth implementation of the projects. He/She is responsible for the formulation and ensuring the implementation of the safety guidelines of the company.

He/ she is responsible for securing and ensuring effective management of supply of raw materials like Iron Ore, Thermal and Coking Coal, Ferro-Alloys and Fluxes etc. for the company and allocation thereof to the plants/units.

He/ she also attends to all issues relating to logistics of rail, road, port facilities for the movement of raw materials and finished products etc.

Pay scale: Rs 1,60,000 – Rs 2,90, 000 (IDA)

Age Limit: Minimum age limit 45 years and age of superannuation 60 years

The minimum length of service required in the eligible scale will be one year for internal candidates, and two years for others as on the date of the vacancy.

Employment status

The applicant must, on the date of application, as well as on the date of interview, be employed in a regular capacity – and not in a contractual/ad-hoc capacity – in one of the followings:-

(a) Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) (including a full-time functional Director in the Board of a CPSE);
(b) Central Government including the Armed Forces of the Union and All India Services;
(c) State Public Sector Enterprise (SPSE) where the annual turnover is *Rs 10,000 crore or more;
(d) Private Sector in company where the annual turnover is *Rs 10,000 crore or more.

Preference would be given to candidates from listed companies.

(*The average audited annual turnover of three financial years preceding the calendar year in which the post is advertised shall be considered for applying the approved limits)

Qualification

The applicant should be an engineering graduate with good academic record from a recognised university or institution.
Applicants holding full-time MBA or Post Graduate Diploma in Management will have added advantages.

Experience

The applicant should possess adequate technical or operational experience at a senior level of management in a large organization of repute, out of which at least five years during the last ten years should have been in steel sector.

Note (i) Applicants from Central Government / All India Services should be holding a post of the level of Joint Secretary in Government of India or carrying an equivalent scale of pay on the date of application.

(ii) Applicants from the Armed forces of the Union should be holding a post of the level of Major General in the Army or equivalent rank in Navy/Air Force on the date of application.

Applicants from State Public Sector Enterprises/ Private Sector should be working at Board level position or at least a post of the level immediately below the Board level on the date of application.
