Government-run SAIL has recorded more than 36 percent jump in sales in November on year-on-year basis. In November, sales at SAIL stood at 1.409 Million Tonnes (MT). The sales figure for November is also one of the industry’s best, reflecting the company’s renewed thrust on marketing strategy to seize the market opportunity.
‘SAIL has recorded handsome jump in sales’
Anil Kumar Chaudhary, SAIL Chairman, said, “SAIL has recorded a handsome jump in sales for November’19 and with the promising future outlook, the company expects a positive consumption sentiment. While focusing on ramping up its production particularly from its modernised units, the company is also taking several customers centric measures, including providing customised products.”
Cost control drive at SAIL
SAIL already launched a cost control drive
across its plants and units with the motto of ‘doing more with less.’ This is expected to bring down the cost of production which is a key factor in achieving higher profitability, a press release said. To ensure larger employee engagement and involvement in this endeavour, a series of workshops were organised in all the plants and units of the company. The focus of these workshops is to evolve action plans for improving operations and operational efficiency through enhanced production and better techno-economic performances, better utilisation of raw materials and enhancing revenue generation through other means, the release said.
At the same time, picking the pulse of the consumers, SAIL is focused on enhancing its product range to suit the customers’ requirements, along with increasing value added products to its basket. The recently launched branded products like SAIL-SeQR TMT and NEX, the new age structurals, are now well accepted products in the market, the release said.
