New Delhi: Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) of Steel Authority of India (SAIL) maintained the ascent in production trend in key areas to register the Best April-November performance in FY 2022-23. In the first eight months of the current financial year, the Steel Plant produced 28,40,404 tonnes of Hot Metal, 26,61,074 tonnes of Crude Steel and 24,67,104 tonnes of Saleable Steel to clock the Best April-November performance. The earlier best April- November performance in all these key areas were achieved in the previous financial year.

With an all-time high production of 47,03,112 tonnes of sinter during the 1st eight months of the current fiscal, the Sinter Plants complemented the success story. The average Oven Pushing from Coke Oven Battery-6 also witnessed the best-ever figure of 90.0 in the above period. The gross dispatch of the Steel Plant on the other hand excelled in tandem with production.

RSP dispatched 24,75,178 tonnes of Saleable Steel to clock the best-ever figure in the 1st eight months since inception. Many units of the steel plant registered individual records. The Captive Power Plant-3 produced 51.02 Mega Watts (MW) of Electrical Power on November 16, 2022, to clock the best single-day performance while Steel Melting Shop-I produced 1,878 tonnes of Crude Steel on November 30, 2022, to set a new record in single-day production.

RSP's Director In-charge Atanu Bhowmick, while congratulating the collective over the consistent improvement in the performance has said, "The road ahead is more challenging. Let's strive ahead unleashing our full potential and meet every challenge head-on."
