Sanjay Jaju (IAS) gets a tenure extension as Additional Secretary (DDP)

New Delhi: Sanjay Jaju (IAS), who is currently serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence Production, has been given a tenure extension for a period of one year. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved an extension in the central deputation tenure of Jaju on October 7. He has been given a tenure extension for a period of one year beyond October 19, 2021, up to October 19, 2022, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Jaju is a 1992-batch Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the Telangana cadre. Currently, he is serving as Additional Secretary in the Department of Defence Production (DDP) under the Ministry of Defence.

Jaju holds a postgraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Cost & Management Accountant and an MBA in Finance by background. He had worked in diverse areas like urban, infrastructure, civil supplies, education and tribal welfare. He has been an ardent advocate of information technology for development and governance which reflects in his stint with DDP.

Jaju has played a remarkable role in establishing iDEX (Innovation for Defence Excellence) which is an ecosystem that fosters Innovation and Technology Development for Defence and Aerospace. iDEX is funded and managed by a Defence Innovation Organisation (DIO) which has been formed as a "not for profit‟ company as per Section 8 of the Companies Act 2013.
