Sanjay Kumar Singh assumes charge as Director (Technical) of BCCL

New Delhi: Sanjay Kumar Singh has assumed charge as Director (Technical) of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Coal, on February 5. Prior to this, he was serving as General Manager (Mining) in Central Coalfields Limited (CCL). According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) issued on February 3, Singh has been appointed to the post for a period with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post till June 30, 2023, i.e. the date of his superannuation, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

Singh was recommended for BCCL's Director (Technical) by the PESB panel on October 1, 2021. He was selected for the post from a list of seven candidates who were interviewed by the selection panel.

Singh is an Engineering Graduate (Mining Engineering) from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad. He has more than three decades of extensive experience in the coal industry in various positions. In his present role, Singh will be a member of the Board of Directors of BCCL. He will report to the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD). He will also be responsible for the operation of mines and also for field activities, technical functions and safety of mines.
