SCI gives additional charge of Director (P&A) to Atul Ubale, Director (L&PS) to Rajesh Sood

New Delhi: The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has given additional charge of the post of Director (P&A) to Atul Ubale and Director (L&PS) to Rajesh Sood as these posts fell vacant November 30. While Surinder Pal Singh Jaggi was holding the position of Director Personnel & Administration at SCI, Sangeeta Sharma was Director Liner & Passenger Service, the shipping PSU said in two separate regulatory filings to the stock exchanges. 

"Shri. Surinder Pal Singh Jaggi, Director (Personnel & Administration) will cease to be on the Board of the Shipping Corporation of India Ltd (SCI) consequent upon Superannuation w.e.f. 30.11.2020. Shri Atul Ubale Director (B&T) will have Additional charge of Director (P&A) w.e.f. 01.12.2020 till regular appointment of Director (P&A)," SCI said in one of the regulatory filings.

"Smt Sangeeta Sharma, Director (Liner & Passenger Service) will cease to be on the Board of The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) consequent upon Superannuation w.e.f. 30.11.2020. Shri Rajesh Sood Director (T&OS) will have Additional Charge of Director (L&PS) w.e.f. 01.12.2020 till regular appointment of Director (L&PS)," the other one read.

Atul Ubale: SCI's new Director (P&A)

Atul Laxman Ubale took over as Director of Bulk Carriers and Tankers from November 11, 2019. Ubale joined the Shipping Corporation in 1989 as a Management Trainee and has served in various Divisions of the Corporation. He is a holder of MBA in Marketing from Mumbai University. He has vast experience in Off Shore Services, Ship acquisition, Chartering & Commercial operations of Bulk Carriers & Tankers, besides serving in SCI's overseas office.

Rajesh Sood: SCI's new Director (L&PS)

Rajesh Sood took over as the Director (TOS) in December 2017. He is a Marine Engineer holding Class I (Motor) certificate of competency issued by Ministry of Transport and Masters' degree in Shipping Management from the World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden. Sood has a vast experience of over 33 years in various segments of Maritime field. He started his professional journey with "The Shipping Corporation of India" in 1984 as a 5th Engineer officer. After serving on diverse types of ships in various ranks for 15 years, he joined shore establishment in 1998.
